The New Dormitory Project Has Begun
Tuesday, September 16 was a special day at Heritage Baptist College. At 11:30 a.m., students, pastors and friends gathered outside as we prepared to begin “by faith” the launching of the new dormitory. Many of those preachers came from out-of-state, and they encouraged us greatly.
Dr. Russell Dennis Sr., loved to have friends turn a shovel of dirt and say a few words. The morning was filled with singing and testifying from the friends of Heritage. Each speaker shared his own thoughts on Heritage, the opportunity before us, and the goodness of God.
President Dennis reminded the gathering that on this very ground, 190 years ago, a Christian by the name of Thomas Henderson set a goal that there would be a school. He also told of the hard work of Baptist students that cleared the fields around Franklin while studying for the ministry. We have a rich heritage.
The project has begun, and the need is great. Many in the past have given to help Heritage survive. Now with the building of the dorm, we have the opportunity to give and watch the vision of Heritage go forward.
